SEC and NASAA Seek Better Coordination

In the wake of Oklahoma's bombshell decision to inject itself into the WorldCom mix through the filing of its own criminal case against the company and certain executives, the SEC and the North American Securities Administrators Association announced this weekend that they will form a joint initiative to develop best practices for the coordination of federal and state enforcement activities. The joint initiative will consist of six SEC representatives and six NASAA representatives.
